This place is the best Mexican food in north salt lake, bountiful, and woods cross. My go to at this place is the chicken fajitas. For $10.50 you get an insane amount of food. Enough for two people or just one really hungry me. And most importantly the food is delicious. This is no doubt my go to Mexican spot. The service is really great at this place as well. The place was closing early tonight because of a state holiday but they stayed open an extra ten minutes so I could get my food. Just really cool local folks. The price, service, and food are all five start. If you are in the area it's worth visiting. Great place.

Love local Mexican food with lots of cheese and sauce covering everything. My hubby likes the burrito wrapped in bacon. He thinks their horchata is some of the best he has ever had. I like to try new things every time I go. So far I've liked almost everything. Not a fan of kids meals.

This is our new favorite place! The food was awesome and the staff was amazing! I was hesitant to try it because it looks pretty tacky from the outside, but thanks to the great reviews on yelp we decided to give it a try. I want to make a quick note that for now the yelp map places it in the wrong location, the address is right, but the map apparently can't figure that out. The inside is also a bit lacking in atmosphere, but they quickly make up for it with their delicious fresh chips and salsa. The chips are made from scratch every day, and the salsa has a more fresh taste to it than what you normally get out of a saucy salsa. Or waitress who was also the owner was very delightful, nice to our 6 month old twins, and was having a lively conversation with my wife who speaks Spanish as well. My wife went simple with a taco combo, one carne asada and one chicken, i was very tempted to get their bacon wrapped and deep fried chimichanga (BACON WRAPPED! HAVE I DIED AND GONE TO HEAVEN?) But my wife lovingly reminded me that I'm trying to avoid too many fried things, so I opted for the quesadilla trio which came with 2 quarters each of chicken, carne asada, and carnitas (my personal favorite). The portions were not outstanding, but still generous and certainly filling, and the presentation was typical. I'll say that I personally did not love the beans, though I did still like them, and my wife loved them, but even with the delicious hand made corn or flour tortillas the real star was the amazingly seasoned, moist and scrumtiously tender meats! The chicken and beef were just delicious, the seasonings were more like a fajita taste than the typical boring salt and pepper, and they were well cooked and very tender. Now for the carnitas... I am a huge fan of a good carnitas, I'm not talking cafe Rio sweet port (which I also love) but a good, juicy, fatty, classically seasoned slow roasted and then broiled to crispy perfection carnitas! These guys have it down PAT, it was all of the above and more, it both melted in your mouth and crunched in your teeth at the same time, and quickly won its place as my favorite carnitas no questions asked! I will be back again and again for this stuff, hopefully I can convince them to let me sub this in the bacon wrapped chimichanga next time... Overall I would say that Nacho House even with its witty name as side, has jumped up to my favorite Mexican restaurant in UT, don't get me wrong I've still got mad love for a certain colored iguana, and a particular solo constellation taqueria, but based on my experience today this little strip mall cantina has taken the cake!

I have lived just around the corner from this establishment for a year now and never had much desire to try this place. The outside signage is quite unappealing. But tonight we decided to finally give nacho house a deserved chance as a local business. As far as the service goes I don't have many expectations. Just keep my drink full and don't mess anything up and I'll probably name my next cat after you. My water was never refilled even though I drank a full glass upon arrival(dehydration kills folks, and I'm not taking any chances). Luckily for me there was frozen water inside the glass that melted enough for a few more sips. The food was what killed it. I ordered the nachos supreme, this is the nacho house after all. I felt as if I was sitting in the cafeteria of T.H. Bell Jr. High again trying to stomach a soggy taco salad (GO MINUTEMEN). The chicken was something like what you get out of a tuna can and the ground beef was nowhere to be found. I even ordered a side of guacamole to be safe but that was as bad as the nachos, I didn't know you could mess up guacamole. Whoever said this place was the best Mexican in Utah is a liar and probably steals money from their grandma for pain killers. My effort to find a second star for nacho house is a fruitless effort indeed. 1/5.

A Mexican restaurant located in gas station strip mall has no business being this good. Everything I've tasted has been really good. Not the best Mexican food I've had, but still really good. Give the Fat Burrito a try.

This place is great. No idea how it isn't 4+ stars. Good, cheap Mexican food. Just like most gringos like it.

I had high expectations after reading the reviews of this place and I was pretty disappointed. The salsa is average, nothing special, I have had much better. We had the Speedy Gonzales which is an enchilada and taco with rice. My cheese enchilada wasn't all the way melted and was a little chewy if that's even possible with cheese. Taco was average not much different than what you get at Taco Bell. Apparently you have to pay at the entrance without being given a ticket - so we sat for a good long while before we finally asked for our ticket and was told to just pay at the front. Cost was very good - but the food won't bring me back.

Pretty good food. I loved my chimichanga. And they offered ground beef, which I loved. But the kids meals suck. They were Dino nuggets from Costco. And they were burnt. My kids don't like Mexican, so if yours don't either, there aren't many options. Loved their chips and salsa.

The chips and salsa were so-so but I hate when restaurants charge you for extra chips!! I ordered the bacon wrapped chimichangas, they were burned and the rice tasted like it was out of a box. Terrible place, there are so many better Mexican places in Salt Lake.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
